We kicked it off with a panel with webcomic guy\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/xkcd.com\">Randall Munroe<\/a> and gamemaker\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Andrew_Plotkin\">Andrew Plotkin<\/a> on the Future of Cultural Work (listen below or <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/download\/TheFutureOfCulturalWork\/futureofculturalwork.mp3\">mp3 here<\/a>)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/TheFutureOfCulturalWork\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-982\" title=\"Photo: Steph\" src=\"http:\/\/ghostswithshitjobs.com\/productionblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Photo-of-MIT-room_from-Steph-e1342818713189.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"487\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and then had a really well-received screening of <em>Ghosts<\/em> (the MIT crowd got all the geeky jokes). Anthony, Sean and I did a Q&amp;A afterwards.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-989\" title=\"Anthony's comment does weird things to our postures\" src=\"http:\/\/ghostswithshitjobs.com\/productionblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/3shot1-e1343140310164.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"286\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At this point we&#8217;ve had a thousand people enjoy <em>Ghosts<\/em> in a theatre, and it&#8217;s not slowing down anytime soon!\u00a0I&#8217;m heading over to Poland next month to support the Transatlantyk fest screening, and at the end of September we&#8217;ve got a screening in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.azundergroundfilmfest.com\/\">Arizona Underground Film Festival<\/a> &#8212; we just got our third festival acceptance there. We&#8217;ll probably use it as an anchor to do a couple of screenings in the southwest US.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully a bunch of you are already considering signing up to <a href=\"http:\/\/48.lofiscifi.com\">make a 48-hr movie with us<\/a> at the end of August, but to prime the pump we&#8217;re doing a series of <a href=\"http:\/\/nomediakings.org\/vidz\/the-lo-fi-sci-fi-salons.html\">Lo-fi Sci-fi Salons<\/a> every Monday at the Monarch starting July 30th. Each one will be hosted by experienced lo-fi sci-fi filmmakers sharing tips and inspiring short vids &#8212; so far we have the <a href=\"http:\/\/brandnewyouthemovie.com\/\">Brand New You<\/a> crew, <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/8156509\">David Fernandez<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sci-fi-london.com\/festival\/\">Louis Savy<\/a> lined up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We had about 400 people come out for the screening at MIT in Boston last Saturday.
