We’re doing a lighting/sound skillshare this Sunday, and I’m looking at our lighting options. Ideally I’d like a kit so we can try 3-point lighting but if you have anything — or know folks who do — let me know via a comment or an email in the next day or two. I will rent from Trinity Square Video if nothing turns up, so the skillshare will happen regardless — let me know if you’d like to attend.

what time where? i would like to attend. i don’t have anything to help i am just curious to learn if that’s ok? Also you might check the differences of rental between LIFT and Trinity? You probably know that.
For sure, Bob, it’s 1pm and location is forthcoming.
Good point about comparing those two — LIFT is closed at the moment however. Do people have opinions LIFT vs TSV if one was going to be a member of one?
There’s also Charles Street Video, http://www.charlesstreetvideo.com/
Earlier this year, I was checking the difference b/w Trinity and Charles Street, and Charles has much better gear, as far as I can tell. And looking at their rates, if you want to rent a Panasonic HVX200 HD/SD Camera, it’s only $92.50 (artist rate) at Charles Street vs. $125 at Trinity. And the Arri 650 3-light kit is $35 vs $45 at Trinity.
I’m not a member at either place, so can’t speak to the cultures, etc., but Charles Street might be worth investigating. I believe membership there is about $150/year.
Tate, that’s great info — Rose also recommended CSV.
Benny Z has hooked us up for the skillshare, so we don’t have to rent yet.
